• • These big bolts are for the connection of the MTX Platform to the square tube that goes in your hitch receiver. They are grade 8 and beefier than the stock bolts that came on MotoTote MTX carriers manufactured before May 2018 so they raise the comfort level of our engineers to the point where they will let you put more weight on your MotoTote carrier – effectively raising the weight capacity by 50 lbs.

    So the weight capacity of the MTX Sport goes to 600 lbs. and the capacity of the MTX m3 to 500 lbs. Remember that these capacities are always limited by your vehicle: The total weight of the MotoTote (60 lbs.) plus your bike cannot exceed 10% of your vehicle’s towing capacity.
